Extract Images: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this and PDF to PNG?
PDF to PNG takes a picture of the whole page. Extract Images saves only the pictures embedded inside the page, at their own resolution, without surrounding text.
Why are some images missing?
Graphics drawn as vectors (charts, shapes, many logos) are not images, so they cannot be extracted. Turn off "Skip small images" if small pictures are missing.
Why does an image look different from the page?
Images can be cropped, masked, or recolored when placed on a page. The tool saves the original embedded image, which may extend beyond what is visible.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Images are decoded in your browser, so your PDF stays on your device.
