N-up PDF: frequently asked questions

What does N-up mean?
N-up is the printing term for placing N pages on one sheet of paper, for example 2-up or 4-up. It reduces paper use for handouts and proofs.
How do I print the booklet?
Print the PDF double-sided with "flip on short edge", stack the sheets, and fold them in half. The pages will read in order. Blank pages are added if the page count is not a multiple of four.
Is the content scaled down?
Yes. Each page is scaled to fit its slot on the sheet while keeping its proportions, so nothing is cropped.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The layout is built in your browser and your file never leaves your device.
